What is being proposed for New Cheshire Business Park?
RRS is proposing to develop a Waste Treatment Plant (WTP) that will utilise proven gasification technology to generate renewable energy from 200,000 tonnes of leftover, non–recycled waste per year. The new waste treatment plant will include: • a Waste Treatment Plant Reception and Recycling Hall to receive and sort waste delivered to the site • a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) which will remove some recyclable materials from the waste • an Advanced Conversion Technology (ACT) facility uses a proven gasification process to convert the energy in the non–recycled waste into renewable energy • a Visitor and Education Centre which will give local schools and members of the public the opportunity to learn more about waste management, and can be used as a local community centre.
