What is being done to treat milfoil in Lake Luzerne this summer?
In late June benthic barriers (large permeable mats) were placed on the bottom of the lake near the beach on 9N and the Island View Motel to cover dense growth of Eurasian milfoil. The mats cover the plants and kill them. They are left in place for about 30 days, at which point they will be moved to another location of dense plant growth.
