What is being done or can be done to stop piracy in music?
It will never end, unfortunately, kids have no integrity these days. About the only thing that will stop them is the wicked viruses and malware they are catching that render their computers unusable. For that, I applaud the virus/malware writers, because if people want to steal, they will have to face the consequences, just the same as if they walked into a store and shoved a CD down their pants. I admit, I haven’t bought a CD in a while, but I refuse to steal nonetheless. I also value my computer, which I paid for, so it isn’t worth the risk either. There are plenty of free Internet radio sites like Last.FM, and SHOUTcast (which is available by downloading the free Winamp player). Also, Grooveshark has about every song ever made if you are looking for something specific, also free to listen. There’s many options out there other than stealing, and I would much prefer to have the CD anyway for the liner notes, lyrics, and basically just to know the fact that I supported my favorite band
