What is basic training like in the kentucky national guard?
Recruits to the Kentucky National Guard undergo the same basic training as all National Guard members. Basic training lasts nine weeks and is divided into three phases. The course trains recruits through exercises and drill.Reception BattalionMost recruits begin basic training within 30 days of joining the National Guard. When recruits arrive for basic training, they spend the first week getting processed, taking a physical examination and learning the values and ethos of the United States Army.Basic Combat TrainingBasic combat training prepares recruits to fulfill their duty as a member of the National Guard.
