What is Baseband Video?
Baseband video is best defined as one video picture being sent point-to-point, as is the case with video output from a DVD, Blu-Ray disc or camera to the video input of a monitor. Examples of baseband video applications include surveillance and monitoring of traffic, airport terminals, schools, court rooms, and light rail systems, as well as video- and tele-conferencing, inter- and intra-studio broadcasts, remote broadcast feeds, and distance learning. JENCO Technologies has created a downloadable PDF that describes the basics of baseband video transmission, and how transmission with optical fiber differs from copper and HFC. The document contains several diagrams, including an illustration of a complete multimedia baseband system configuration. Download the Baseband Video PDF here.
