What is BAS 2 used to assess?
The BAS 2 comprises 21 short tests, each of which is used to assess particular types of knowledge, thinking and/or skills. Three of these are simple measures of educational level, measuring number skills, spelling and word reading and known as the Achievement scales. The remainder are known as the Cognitive scales and they measure mental abilities that are the outcome of interaction between a child’s innate capabilities and his or her experiences, both at home and at school.
