Bamboo fabric is any kind of bamboo textile such as bamboo knit yarn, fabric or cloth made from bamboo fibers. It is used for making organic bamboo clothing or bamboo fiber clothing. Originally bamboo was only used for things like corsets and Chinese drywall, it has been found that the advantages to using bamboo in everyday cloth and yarn has created sustainability in clothing making it more durable and longer lasting.

In ancient China and Japan, small bits of bamboo used to be woven into hats and shoes. A person wearing a bamboo hat was said to be linked to living in a rural area, usually a farmer or someone that worked in the rice paddies. Many Chinese would use bamboo and other textiles like whale bone to create fashionable women’s clothing that they would sell for money and other items.

One of the best benefits to using bamboo is that it is an organic material. Therefore, it is vegan and environmentally friendly because it is a natural fiber and when it is combined with things, it is usually something else natural like organic cotton or hemp. This makes the yarn or bamboo fabric more stable and have a much longer life than if it were all on it’s own. This is because bamboo fabric is made from the leaves of the plant which are very light and flexible. It is then treated in a sodium hydroxide solution which hardens the cellulose that had been extracted from it in the process. Once that has been done, it can then be woven or spun into whatever kind of fabric it will live it’s life as.

Many companies use extensive bleaching processes to turn bamboo fiber white, although companies producing organic bamboo fabric leave the bamboo fiber unbleached. To make bamboo fiber, bamboo is heavily pulped until it separates into thin component threads of fiber, which can be spun and dyed for weaving into cloth. Bamboo fabric is very soft and can be worn directly next to the skin. Many people who experience allergic reactions to other natural fibers, such as wool or hemp, do not co
