BA is short for Bachelor of Arts. It is an undergraduate university degree (undergraduate meaning the first 4-5 years you attend university.) A BA is definitely useful – it is just less specific than certain other degrees. You would be taking a broader range of subjects. Many people partner it with a masters degree (aka postgraduate degree), which you complete after your BA. However, it depends on what you want to go into. If by dramatic degree, you mean one in theatrical performance, than the future would be what you make of it. Sure it is harder to find a job as an actor, but you have to do what makes you happy. A diploma is the college-level equivalent of a degree. So in simple terms, university=degree and college=diploma. Many will argue that a degree is more widely accepted than a diploma, but once again it depends on what you intend to go into as a career.
