What is Avis Budget Group doing with respect to the environment?
• Avis/Budget is committed to managing the environmental aspects of our business with transparency and in accordance with established international standards, to be sensitive to the needs of the environment, and to measure and manage how our business affects the environment. Out of a total fleet of more than 375,000 Avis Budget Group vehicles, about half have a fuel efficiency rating of 30 miles per gallon or better (highway). One-fourth of our fleet (approximately 100,000 vehicles) is rated at 32 miles per gallon (highway) or better. 63% of the vehicles in our fleet meet the standards for US EPA SmartWay Certification. Avis and Budget also now offer gas/electric hybrid cars for rent in certain locations. Avis Budget Group is creating a formal Environmental Management System (EMS) in accordance with ISO 14001 international standards.
