What is AVIA CD-ROM?
AVIA CD-ROM was Ovation Multimedia’s original Audio Visual Interactive Aid for Home Theater. The program included encyclopedic information on home theater topics and generated its test signals using a computer’s audio system and NTSC output circuitry. The program was produced before DVD video was widely available. The newer AVIA DVD dramatically supersedes the CD-ROM version with more extensive video and audio test patterns and calibration procedures. AVIA DVD advances many features of the original program. Although, its test patterns are now supplanted by those on the DVD, AVIA CD-ROM remains a rich source of in-depth information and includes advanced calibration procedures and modifications not suitable for AVIA DVD.
