Autistic children do not understand that living things are different from inanimate objects. They can develop relationships, but they will never have the context of deep and meaningful, emotional relationships that most people think of. Autistic people are incapable of relating a personal experience to another person. For example, if someone calls you stupid and it upsets you, you can assume that calling someone else stupid will upset them.an autistic person is incapable of doing this. Autistic individuals also crave repetition and routine.
