What is Auditory Subliminal Perception?
Auditory subliminal perception is information we receive aurally which we consciously ignore or do not fully consciously perceive but which we do perceive and process subconsciously. Bird and nature sounds are an example. We hear them, but do not consciously process the sound. subconsciously, the information is recorded into memory. A “Jingle” is an example of this process. You may hear a catchy tune or jingle on the radio once or twice, or while driving the car or while in a conversation when a radio is playing in the background. Consciously, you pay no attention to it. subconsciously, you remember it, as you do all experience. Later on, someone may start singing the jingle, and you chime right in and finish it, usually you both laugh. Jingles can be fun. This is aural subliminal perception, but it is not persuasion because it is part of our environment that we have come to expect and accept.
