What is Atomization?
Atomization is the process of disintegrating a liquid jet or sheet in to droplets by use of some kind of force. This force could be the kinetic energy of the liquid itself, kinetic energy of high velocity air or gas, mechanical energy applied externally through a rotating or vibrating device, the application of electromagnetic force or high frequency vibration. The devices used to perform atomization are called nozzles or atomizers. These devices are grouped based on the energy used to perform atomization and are called: Hydraulic nozzles. Air-shear nozzles or twin-fluid nozzles. Rotary atomizers Electrostatic nozzles Ultrasonic nozzles.
