More than 150,000 volumes are housed in Yale’s high-efficiency, off-campus Library Shelving Facility, including the following types of materials: • Monographs in the “Old Day” classification (missions-materials added to the collection through ca. 1950). • Materials published before 1850 (regardless of classification) with the exception of materials that receive heavier use, which are housed on-site. • The library of the World Student Christian Federation (WSCF), formerly housed in the Day Missions Reading Room. WSCF serials are housed in the Special Collections Reading Room. Call numbers for all these materials are preceded by WSCF. • Materials in the “unclassified” collection (identified by having a six-digit call number). • Pamphlets housed at the LSF are treated as non-circulating. Those receiving regular use will be reclassified to LC. Materials held in the LSF may be requested through Orbis by using the Place Requests button. A valid Yale ID is required to place a request.
