An Asian Blepharoplasty eyelid surgery consists of surgically creating a crease in the eyelid in order to establish the double eyelid fold that is a sought after feature in Asian cultures. This a pretty simple procedure that consists of either suturing the eyelid or making a small incision in the natural crease to excise a small amount of fat and muscle to create this favorable characteristic. It can be done in office under local anesthetic as an outpatient procedure, or in combination with other surgeries under general anesthetic. Patient may return to work in 2 days time and can expect a full recovery in 2 weeks in order for swelling to subside.
