– Active Noise Reduction is an Andrea technology that reduces ambient noise heard by the user. The ambient noise is sampled from a microphone mounted on each ear cup, and built-in electronics generate an anti-noise signal that cancels the ambient noise. The ANR is effective at lower frequencies to reduce the hum and droning of air conditioners, PC fans, etc. It is particularly effective at reducing the background noise on airplanes. It does not cancel frequencies in the primary speech range.
