WHAT IS ANGEL FLIGHT?
Angel Flight is a non-profit organization consisting of pilot and non-pilot volunteers. It is a coordinating service that matches individuals in need who must travel long distance for health care, with volunteer pilots willing to donate their time and aircraft to get them there. Angel Flight Southeast, Inc., is a division of Angel Flight America, the national volunteer pilot organization. WHERE DOES ANGEL FLY? Angel Flight Southeast assists patients in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Mississippi and Alabama. They have the ability to transport patients long distances by handing them off to other volunteer pilot organizations. It’s much like the old Pony Express, say Angel Flight representatives, but with more precious cargo. COST? There is never a charge for an Angel Flight mission. The entire cost of the flight is paid for by volunteer pilots. They receive no reimbursement other than knowing their aviation skills and talents are making a difference.
