What is and how much is security deposit?
Many leases require the tenant to pay a security deposit to guarantee payment of rent or safeguard against a tenant’s destruction of the premises. A security deposit is usually equal to one month’s rent. However, where trade fixtures are to be installed, the landlord may require an extra deposit to ensure that the property will be restored to its original condition when they are removed.
