What is an Umbrella Organization or Federation?
” An umbrella, also called a federation or association, is the organization that represents nonprofit charities in the combined campaign. Umbrellas bring together nonprofit charities and guarantee their compliance with all the regulations that allow them to participate in the campaign. Local umbrella organizations also work with the City of Madison and Dane County employees on planning and implementing the combined campaign. Local Umbrellas There are four local umbrella organizations in the combined campaign. Each represents member charities that meet the umbrella’s overall missions.
