What is an SIP or School Improvement Day?
School Improvements Days are generally used for professional staff development. The state allows all school districts a set number of days each year for these opportunities. SIP days also allow teachers much needed time for collaboration on instruction and curriculum. For example, this year the school will begin a process called Curriculum Mapping during which the entire K-12 curriculum will be developed and improved upon.
