What is an RACs?
In the early 1990’s the national grains industry research sector was undergoing significant structural and operational changes. The key stakeholders in the Queensland grain industry agreed that there was a need to formally structure the advisory arrangement for those directly involved in Queensland grain production (particularly grain growers). Four (4) Research Advisory Committees (RACs) were formed based around the four (4) major grain growing regions. These RAC’s, under a Charter of Operations, produce annually the Priority Issues Paper which advises research providers and funders of current and emerging grain production problems. While initially established as sub-committees of GRF, the RACs were transferred to GRFL on 1st January 2007.
