What is an ORISE participant?
An ORISE research participant is a guest at a DoD facility, participating in hands-on research alongside some of the best minds in science and using state-of-the-art equipment. Participants not only gain experience and further their education, but they also support the research missions of the host facility and ultimately DoD. The ORISE research participation program is intended to be a win/win arrangement for both the participant and the facility. The host facility provides the funding for the participant’s stipend and, in return, expects the participant to become an active, contributing member of its research community. Participants should expect to gain training and experience relative to their chosen field of research.
