ANS12. The function of Line driver is to convert RS-232 signals into RS-422 from & vice-versa. By Rs-422 we can use longer data cable. Line Drivers are to be used in pair. All the advantages of ISOLATOR are in-built in Line drivers of DIGITECH make. With a pair of Line driver the cable upto about 2000 mtrs. ( at Baud Rate 4800) can be put between PC & CNC. But this is to be taken only as a guide line. Now-a-days, people use wireless products instead of line drivers & long cable.
