What is an OJT (On-the-Job Training) and how can I get an OJT with an employer?

Once an individual is determined eligible and appropriate for Golden Sierra training services and wishes to utilize the OJT program, he/she can use a variety of job search methods i.e.: apply directly, referrals or phone contacts to introduce the OJT program to a prospective employer. The OJT program is formed through Golden Sierra and an employer. If an employer is willing to hire you and train you on-the-job to give you marketable skills, Golden Sierra can pay up to 50% of your wages for the initial training period. A contract is created by Golden Sierra and the employer, and the employer is responsible for training you, the employee, at the work site.
