An OC-48 is a type of internet connection. It stands for OpticalCarrier Level 48 which equates to 2.488 Gbps of transfer. This base rate is multiplied for use by other OC-n standards. For example, an OC-3 connection is 3 times the rate of OC-1. At 2.488 Gbps, OC-48 surpasses Gigabit ethernet and are used as backbones at my ISPs and hosting providers. Client Testimonial: James Butler – “I came to this host from Tripod, and boy was I surprised by the excellent features, great prices, and above all, the outstanding customer service. I could not be happier. The live, on demand customer service and tech support really blew me away.
