What is an observatory?
An observatory is a building designed to maximize the experience of looking at the night sky. The Starry Hill Observatory houses a 15-inch diameter telescope for viewing and taking photographs of stars, planets, nebulae, and galaxies. The observatory telescope will be dedicated to astrophotography and finding deep-space objects, so most of the viewing and exploring will take place in the viewing area directly outside the observatory. Starry Hill Observatory will provide access to a variety of telescopes for amateur stargazing, as well as star maps, charts, and astronomy software.
