What is an MFT Intern?
A MFT Intern is a therapist who has graduated from an accredited university with a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and is working toward licensure. To become licensed, a candidate must have a minimum of 3,000 hours of experience working with a variety of client populations (i,e, groups, individuals, families) and must pass two licensing examinations. While working toward licensure, a MFT Intern must be supervised by a licensed therapist, such as a MFT or LCSW.
