Information Sharing and Analysis Centers (ISACs) were created by several industry sectors at the President’s urging in the late 1990s as confidential venues for exchanging information on security vulnerabilities and solutions. WaterISAC was established for this purpose, with an expanded mission to support water and wastewater utilities in their response and recovery efforts from all hazards. WaterISAC went online with www.waterisac.org in December 2002.
