An International Letter of Permission (ILOP) allows you to study abroad with the assurance that you will be able to transfer your credits back to Queen’s. It is required by Faculty of Arts and Science regulations for any undergraduate Arts and Science student studying abroad (unless they are studying at the International Study Centre or a Queen’s deparmental study abroad program which offers Queen’s credits). International Letters of Permission for international study may be obtained from the International Programs Office for a small administrative fee. Students in good academic standing may apply for transfer credits retroactively, upon their return to Queen’s (the same fee applies). However, you are strongly advised to obtain an ILOP before you depart. The ILOP is your assurance that you will receive credit for your study abroad experience: we cannot guarantee that you will receive credit, or the credits you need, without an ILOP.
