If, (and this may only be with certain plants, but our science teacher told us), you plant a plant or tree in the soil upside down (the roots in the open air and the flower/leaves in the soil) the roots will begin to sprout leaves and the flower will gradually turn into roots.

some plants are as genetically complex than humans eg bananas have 2 more chromosomes than humans and can produce vitamin D by themselves (we cannot in high enough quantities) plants produce their own energy through the sun and soak up CO2 in the process helping prevent climate change
