What is an Interactive Science Museum?
Whether youre an educator or parent, youve probably had the experience of walking through the doors of an interactive science museum. The awe and wonder on childrens faces is hard to surpass. A Lakeview, we are going to build on students innate fascination with these informal science experiences by building our own Interactive Science Museum. The museum itself will be constructed in the hallways of Lakeview Middle School. Students from every 7th and 8th grade science classroom will design, construct and present a wide range of interactive displays based directly on their school years classroom content. Because each display will be taken directly from course content, they will be directly aligned with state standards and district grade level expectations The displays will be built for a 5th grade target audience, offering the challenge of developing and explaining our grade level concepts to students who are younger.
