It replaces the POSTNET and PLANET barcodes and promises to raise the level of service the USPS provides. Use of the Intelligent Mail Barcode will help the USPS improve mail deliverability, provide new service and increase its overall efficiency. The Intelligent Mail Barcode is also referred to as OneCode, IMB and the 4 State Barcode.
