Intellectual Property is a general term to refer the right of a person who invented new technology, wrote books, created images and concepts that are originally their own.  Giving examples of these, a technology invention includes either software or hardware product, while books written that are original include fiction and non fiction like results of researches, true to life stories, original creation of novel, songs, music, poems and etc; images are pictures, logos, artwork, and other type of images with original concepts.  To be able to claim your property right, it needs ISBN that will reserve you the right for copyright in books, while patent in terms of technology invention.  Images in many forms can also be registered for patenting.  A publisher has the right to claims too.  Through a contract between the owner and publisher binds them together.

Intellectual property refers to an author’s or inventor’s rights to their book/invention. Intellectual Property Management refers to the protection of those rights through the copyright and patent process. For example, a large research and development company would own quite a bit of intellectual property being used in varied fields and countries. They would probably have several Intellectual Property Managers to handle all the copyright and patent issues related to their property.
