What is an impressive song in CHEST VOICE that I can sing for my GCSE music performance?
Well, it might be a bit difficult, but a song that springs to mind is ‘Johnny’, from Benjamin Britten’s cabaret songs. It’s a great song, and would be incredibly impressive if you could pull it off. It goes down to an F below middle C, and up to a top C. However, bear in mind that singing at the limits of your range is not necessarily the most impressive thing. As a famous singer once said ‘never sing louder than lovely’. I’d much rather hear someone sing well within their capabilities and do is well, than hear someone stretching themselves too far.
