What is an FCLP?

0

FCLP is an acronym for Field Carrier Landing Practice. FCLP is the required flight training that immediately precedes (and qualifies) pilots for carrier-landing operations. FCLP is generally flown in a left-hand, closed loop, racetrack pattern at 600 feet above ground level, ending with a “touch-and-go” landing. The pattern should simulate, as closely as practicable, the conditions pilots encounter during actual carrier landing operations at sea.
