What is an Executive Committee person? What are the duties and terms of office?
Tennessee law requires that each political party have a State Executive Committee which represents the primary board for the party. Members of the State Executive Committee for each party are elected at the regular August Primary proceeding the election of Governor. In each party’s primary, its voters in each senatorial district elect (1) man, (1) woman as members of the State Executive Committee for terms of (4) years beginning on September 15th following their election.
