What is an Exclusive Right of Burial?
The Exclusive Right of Burial entitles the registered owner: • To be interred in a grave subject to space being available in the grave, • To determine who is buried in the grave and • To apply for the Right to erect a memorial on the grave. The purchase of Exclusive Right of Burial is equivalent to a “lease” granted by the Council. It should be remembered that the Council is the land owner and controls and manages the cemeteries through its regulations.
