What is an example of an Early Learning Program schedule?
• ECE and Teacher arrive and spend time together reviewing the plans for the day. • Children arrive and may be greeted by an ECE or another member of school staff. • Children gather at the carpet, share a fingerplay, story, daily discussion led alternately by the Teacher and ECE. • Children rotate through four centres including a literacy centre; two are independent play (water table, sand table, another led by the ECE, another led by the Teacher). • Children enjoy snack with music while the Teacher and ECE each take their break – one at a time providing consistency for the students. • Children may go to the gym with a primary teacher colleague allowing for an opportunity for the ECE to have preparation and planning time. This time may also be used to collaborate with other members of the school team. • Children return to classroom where play-based learning experiences continue to be available to children.
