What is an example of an appropriate WAPPP Roy Internship?
• Working for a female elected official in her Washington, DC or regional office or conducting policy research for the official. • A student interested in conflict transformation could be matched with an NGO or woman working on peace building in a region of the student’s interest. This would provide an opportunity to work closely with organizations building peace from within the conflict area. • A student interested in international policy organizations could work at government agencies or NGOs such as UNICEF, OXFAM or USAID. • Working with a member of the Women’s Leadership Board, which provides an excellent opportunity for students to develop close relationships with high-powered successful women.
