What is an Ex-Date ?
Exchanges declare Ex-Date based on the Record Date / Book Closure date declared by Corporates. The market forces determine the price of the shares after taking into consideration the value of the corporate action. The buyer of shares is not entitled to receive the corporate benefits for all transactions that are executed on or after the Ex-date. All transactions executed after the ex-date are ex-price and all trades executed prior to the ex-date are cum price.
