In the 2005 Legislative session, Section 320.131(8), Florida Statutes, was amended to authorize the department to administer an electronic system for motor vehicle dealers to report the issuance of temporary license plates. This allows law enforcement to verify the validity of a temporary license plate via the Florida Real Time Vehicle Information System (FRVIS).
