what is an easy way to remove a broken bolt from a 1995 honda civic crankshaft?
Easy is relative. There are several ways to do this. If there is still some portion of the bolt sticking out the end that is at least ¼” long, use a small (and I mean small, maybe 6″) pipe wrench to remove it, I wouldn’t try vice grips as they usually just strip metal off. If it is less than ¼” long or it is not broken off nice and even, use a grinder to knock down the remaining portion so that it is flat or as close to flat as possible (careful not to touch the crank), go to the parts store and buy a good set of bolt extractors, not easy outs. A good set will have dies in it to fit over the extended portion of a broken bolt so that you can drill directly in the center and a pin that you hammer into the hole you drill. If they are available with left hand drill bits buy that one, sometimes the bolt comes right out while drilling. These same sets also come with dies that will center a drill bit in a bolt hole where the bolt is broken off internally and the same pin will be hammered in.
