What is an average amount that a person spends when they take a Europe vacation?
I’m looking at 10 days in Italy for about $4000 plus whatever I spend on souvenirs and stuff. Is that way too much or about average? I’m not looking for a first class everything vacation, just something average…although I would take the first class if it was cheap enough..lol. A: This is more than enough! The thing in Italy that will cost the most is getting a good hotel. Keep in mind what most Americans think has a three star hotel is really a one star hotel. The hotel standards are lower. You will not find discounts on designer clothes, or glasses so if you want to buy some of those expect to pay full price. Renting a car does not cost a lot but putting gas in the car is much much higher than in the US. Also Italy has toll roads. Food is cheap and safe to eat all over. The water should be brought from the store depending on the area you visit. In Rome there are public fountains with cool fresh drinking water.
