What is an ATM Permanent Virtual Circuit (PVC)?
A. A PVC is a circuit that a network operator over an ATM-switched network between a specific source and a specific destination manually provisions. A PVC is provisioned in order to last from a month to several years, or until the service is terminated. Refer to RFC 1483 for more information. Note: PVC is also known as Permanent Virtual Channel.
