What is an articulation agreement?
An articulation agreement is a formalized arrangement that has been negotiated between two academic institutions. The purpose of the agreement is to encourage receiving universities to recognize the academic accomplishments completed at Conestoga College. Students often secure advanced standing at a university which translates into reduced courses/time needed to complete a degree.
Each college has its own program requirements. These requirements vary with the student’s intended major. An articulation agreement is an agreement, usually with a four-year institution, that specifies which CCSF classes may be transferred to meet elective credit, general education, or major requirements.
Articulation agreements are developed between Essex County College (ECC) and four-year institutions for the purpose of maximizing the number of credits students can transfer. Each articulation agreement specifies how the coursework taken at Essex County applies to the baccalaureate degree program at the four-year institution.
