What is an Art Muses Studio Session?
The Art Muses Studio Sessions are meant to represent the time a professional artist spends working in a studio, giving students the opportunity to create their own inspired works of art while working in the classroom. Following a brief biographical review, students are directed through a step-by-step, hands-on-activity, based on a single work of art by a featured “Art Muse”. A full-color reproduction of this spotlighted artwork is provided for each lesson, used as a tool to further establish the recognition of each distinctive artist, his or her medium and their noteworthy style. Although each activity has specific steps, students are always encouraged to “Be Inspired!”, by incorporating their one-of-a-kind perspective and creativity. The use of recycled materials is encouraged, whenever possible, throughout the course of The Art Muses program. The Art Muses Studio Sessions are easily adapted to all K-6 grade levels.
