What is an APVMA review?
Pesticide and veterinary medicines are reviewed to take into account any new information and scientific data generated since the products were first registered. Potential new risks may be identified through: adverse experience reports, overseas regulatory activity, new research or scientific information, changing science or standards, or public concern over the use of the products. The APVMA conducts a comprehensive and systematic review of the new risks posed by the registered products. The review considers recommendations from the APVMA’s external advisory agencies and submissions or comments provided by the community, industry, user groups and State agricultural departments. Together, these recommendations and comments form the basis on which the APVMA develops a regulatory framework to ensure that the products satisfy current registration standards of safety and performance.
