What is an antisocial behaviour notice?
It is a means for ensuring that landlords take reasonable steps to manage or alleviate antisocial behaviour in relation to the properties they let. A landlord who does not take action when there is antisocial behaviour at a house which he or she lets is failing the wider community. This particular measure deals with problems at individual houses. Antisocial Behaviour Notices will be backed up with a national landlord registration scheme. Antisocial Behaviour Notices will come into effect in November 2005 once regulations have been made and consultation has taken place on arrangements.
