A. Anaphylactic reactions are life threatening, extreme allergic reactions that can occur due to food, medications or insect bites. They can result in dizziness, a sudden drop in blood pressure, breathing problems, asthma attacks, loss of consciousness. They can very well be fatal, and must be treated immediately. Patients who are prone to these attacks usually carry an emergency kit containing epinephrine around with them.
