What is an American Mastiff?
It is a mutt, and often a dangerous one. Puppymillers tout these crosses of Anatolian Shepherds and Mastiffs as “dry-mouthed, with the temperament of a Mastiff.” Unsuspecting and uneducated families buy one of these cute little pups, then are heartbroken a year or two later when it reaches maturity and develops the Anatolian temperament, many times turning on family members. Many am’s have severe aggression issues and are euthanized at a young age. Anatolians are aggressive dogs bred to think for themselves and stay aloof, and do not make good family pets. Furthermore, any dog with large flews (the floopy face) will drool. Think of when you go to the dentist and he numbs your cheek. You may drool, because you have no muscle control to stop it. Neither do dogs. PLEASE educate yourself. Never take for granted that someone is being honest. Always research for yourself.
